Forum stakeholder Kalbar small 

The Forestry Service Office of West Kalimantan in collaboration with GIZ conducted a three-day workshop, the “Forestry Stakeholder Forum” on March 7-9, 2018 in Pontianak. The aim of this workshop is to promote communication and coordination as well as commitment among forestry stakeholders in preparation of the forestry planning, which will take place in West Kalimantan.

The workshop was attended by about 100 participants from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) and its technical unit in the province, provincial officials, Head of Forest Management Unit (FMU), and NGOs.

In his speech the Head of the Forestry Provincial Office addressed challenges and issues of forestry in West Kalimantan, focusing on the Agrarian Reform (TORA) and Social Forestry and emphasized Forest Management by FMUs.

The results of this workshop are the formulation of existing challenges in forestry and the prioritization of forestry planning in West Kalimantan.
