In 2021, the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA) in Papua, working in conjunction with FORCLIME, agreed to support the A'Memay Nature Lovers Group located in Tablasupa Village, Jayapura Regency, Papua Province. The A'Memay manages the area of forest around the Mount Cycloop Nature Reserve buffer zone, a tourist area of special interest to birdwatchers as it is home to the legendary bird of paradise.

In an effort to support preparations for the Tablasupa Village Ecotourism Development Plan document, the BBKSDA, supported by FORCLIME, held a recent FGD that aimed to educate the local community about legal access to forest resources and their benefits for traditional communities, particularly through social forestry schemes. The FGD was held in Tablasupa Village on 26 January 2024 and was opened by the acting Head of Region IV Section Sarmi, Mr Purnama, who is also the Head of Moy Resort. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Social Forestry and Environmental Partnership Center (BPSKL) Maluku Papua, as well as by a village government representative, specifically the Chair of the Village Consultative Body (Bamuskam), and also by traditional and youth leaders from Tablasupa, the Chair of the Tablasupa church congregation, administrators and members of the A'Memay and Tablasupa communities.

During the event, FORCLIME's Strategic Area Manager for Sustainable Forest Management, Mr. Mohammad Sidiq, facilitated FGD participants as they addressed the development of a strategic plan for the utilization of forest resources and associated benefits for traditional communities through the application of the SWOT approach. This approach involves the identification of relevant strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and it is hoped that the A'Memay will ultimately be able to develop a strategic management plan for the area.
