On 27th March 2019, the Governor of North Kalimantan enacted Governor Regulation No.7 Year 2019 regarding the Regional Action Plan for Green House Gas Emission Reduction (RAD GRK) of North Kalimantan. In his capacity as RAD GRK coordinator, submitted the document to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Head of the National Planning Agency (BAPPENAS).

The RAD-GRK document is a guideline for all actors in North Kalimantan province, both government and non-government agencies, in preparing their programme activities to achieve the target of emission reduction under the coordination of the regional planning agency (BAPPEDA). Objectives of the developed document are as follows: (1) To develop cross-cutting GHG emission reduction planning; (2) To develop appropriate strategies for GHG emission reduction; (3) To provide information on local investment opportunities related to climate change mitigation activities; and (4) To increase capacities, roles, and responsiveness of the local agencies, organizations, human resources to climate change mitigation issues. The document has been designed and printed, and available on FORCLIME website.

"Join efforts by FORCLIME and RAD GRK Working Group have been done, such as the calculation of GHG emission baseline; emission projection as a basis to determine the Reference Emission Level (REL); and data input into the national platform for monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PEP) through an online system. In addition, the BAPPEDA and RAD GRK Working Group prepared a low carbon development plan (PPRK) for North Kalimantan Province.", said Mr. Teddy Kusuma from BAPPEDA of North Kalimantan.
